Misuse of Zakat collected Funds through mosques

It is interesting to note that some mosques who have collected Zakat for 15 years, cannot produce 1 beneficiary who has come out of poverty , let alone that he is Zakat payee. Sri Lankan government moves to evict more Colombo shanty residents

The government has no concrete plans to provide houses for evicted families. Rajapakse did not allocate a cent to build new housing for shanty families in the 2011 budget, announced on November 22.
