Sri Lankan Muslims; Despicable attack on Iftar party at Akkaraipattu!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. This is how one could describe the shameful and disgusting attack on Muslims by Muslims during an Iftar gathering at Akkaraipattu in the eastern Sri Lanka on Monday 13 August 2012. By all means this was a heinous crime committed by thugs, hooligans and gangsters who call themselves Muslims. London Talk on Burma Massacre - 25/08/12

The massacre of the Rohingya has exposed the hypocrisy of international bodies like the UN, human rights organisations and the global media. Just compare the lack of coverage about the plight of the Rohingya Muslims with the coverage of the house of arrest of Aung San Suu Kyi over many years. Some have described them as the most persecuted minority in the world, yet the lack of prominence given to their cause show exactly how politicized humanitarian and human rights campaigning bodies are. Indeed, even the Nobel Peace Prize winning Aung San Suu Kyi refused to accept they are Burmese citizens, instead saying this “ethnic conflict should be investigated and dealt with wisdom.Read more>>>

The Education System in Islam

Islam offers a unique alternative which solves many of the problems students are facing in Canada and other Capitalist nations. The education system in the Khilafah is composed of Shariah rules which emanate from the Islamic Aqeedah. As a result, the rights of students that Allah (swt) has provided can never be taken away nor marginalized as it would be a violation of the Shariah – an action which the Khaleefah would be accountable for on the Day of Judgment and could legitimize his removal from his position as head of state. Aid and Conflict in Pakistan

The latest report from the International Crisis Group, examines how the U.S. focus on military funding has failed to deliver counter-terrorism dividends, instead entrenching the military’s control over state institutions and delaying reforms. In order to help stabilise a fragile country in a conflict-prone region, it concludes, the U.S. and other donors should focus instead on long-term civilian assistance to improve the quality of state services, in cooperation with local civil society organisations, NGOs with proven track records and national and provincial legislatures. TUNISIA GHANNUSHI’S POLITICAL PARADOXES: ISLAM? OR SECULAR?

The speech, full of contradictions and paradoxes, often mixes false premises with real issues, also taking some legitimate ideas well beyond their context and relevance. His speech, like other statements from Ennahda’s leadership in Tunisia, as well as respected figures from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, tries hard to straddle the demands of the West (and Tunisia’s military authorities which it supports) and the population, which has deep Islamic sentiments. Creating the Quranic Character

It is an established fact that for Muslims the Qur’an is the foundation of the Islamic faith. It is the medium of communication that Allah (swt) has chosen to communicate His (swt) message to mankind. Occupy movements epitomise the rise of anti-capitalism in the heart of capitalist states

The Occupy movement gets its name from the way it seeks to initiate political change. Demonstrators occupy public (though that’s not always the case) squares, and buildings associated with the issue they feel a grievance towards. This adversely impacts the everyday workings of these places, sometimes bringing business to a halt, but most importantly draws public attention to their cause – if and when the media chooses to cover the story.
